Happy Earth Day!

OVERVIEW from Planetary Collective on Vimeo.
Over forty years ago, the astronauts of Apollo 8 orbited the moon for the first time and captured the iconic "Blue Marble" photographs of the earth from space. The Overview Effect, describes the radical shift in perspective that happened as a result of these images. To many, the world could no longer be viewed as an inert lump of
rock, but an alive, fragile, interconnected, super organism.

This week we reached our first £1000 for the crowdfunder campaign. There's still a long way to go until we hit our £15000 target to bring a 7-day a week 'pay as you feel' cafe to Brighton, but we'd like to say a huge thank you to all those who have supported TRJFPB so far! As a sign of our appreciation anybody making a pledge will have a place on our lovely supporter wall here (of course, if you'd rather remain anonymous then that's fine too!).
Today we will be at One Church, Gloucester Place serving up a delicious waste free lunch from 1-3pm. Do come join us!
Until then, have an amazing Friday,

Overwhelmed in a Very Good Way
Our campaign video shot by Thom Novi
It's safe to say that the launch on Friday was a huge success! We would like to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers and participants. We fed over 300 people, with all food saved from landfill. We are all still so overwhelmed by how it all went - that we are struggling to put it into words of any meaning! Luckily however, our friends at Octopus Alchemy have written a great piece, which sums up the day perfectly. You can read the full article on their blog here, or check out a snippet (well ... chunk!) below:
