Overwhelmed in a Very Good Way

Our campaign video shot by Thom Novi

It's safe to say that the launch on Friday was a huge success! We would like to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers and participants. We fed over 300 people, with all food saved from landfill. We are all still so overwhelmed by how it all went - that we are struggling to put it into words of any meaning! Luckily however, our friends at Octopus Alchemy have written a great piece, which sums up the day perfectly. You can read the full article on their blog here, or check out a snippet (well ... chunk!) below:

The Real Junk Food Project Needs You!

It's Friday! This can only mean one thing - the launch of our crowd funder campaign! If you're around and about Brighton today, please do come and join us for our launch party from 1-3pm at One Church, Gloucester Place. There will be a delicious waste food lunch, live music from local artists including: Jacko Hooper, Greenness, and Deirdre Faegre! and we will be showcasing contributions from our amazing volunteers.

So let me introduce you to our campaign. As of today we have 8 weeks to raise £15,000 for a permanent space, so we can run a thriving 7-day cafe. Head over to our Crowdfunder page for all the details including an ace little doc shot by Thom Novi. We have an incredible line-up of rewards for pledges made. These range from a jar of one of our delicious jams to carpentry workshops and dinner parties! Take a look at the full list here

If you can't make the launch in person - we will be posting regular updates on Facebook and Twitter throughout the day. In the weeks that follow we will be introducing you to the people and the projects behind our rewards,  as well as a bit more about The Real Junk Food Project Brighton and why we're really excited about it's future!

Until then - have an amazing Friday

Team TRJFPB x

Exciting Times Ahead

Poster designed by Thom Novi

Hello there! Welcome to our blog. Over the next few months we have some exciting campaigns coming up. So whilst we wait for our shiny new website to be up and running, this is where you can find all the latest from The Real Junk food Project Brighton.

You may have spotted us dishing up tasty lunches at the One Church, Gloucester Place (Friday, 1-3pm). Or perhaps we’ve had a chat at the Churchill Square Market (Wednesday, 10am – 4pm)? You may have even joined us at one our pop-up events since last Summer…
